Jazz Interlude: bringing jazz to the top of the world

After reviewing clubs and festivals from all over the world, the Jazz Club Jury team is proud to announce its own series of concerts: ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our Jazz Interlude!

It has been a rumour for quite some time now, but in an article published at the end of 2012 we confirmed it: Jazz Club Jury will bring some of the hottest jazz musicians around to Helsinki.

The first ‘appetizer’ in the Jazz Interlude with series of concerts was the Finnish-Estonian quartet Nordic Sounds. An intimate gig, organised as part of TING Nordic Culture Festival. The event brought cultural Nordic  music, delicious meals, comedy and entertainment to Helsinki.

We told you: 2013 is going to be an explosive year, full of wonderful surprises! If you live in the Helsinki area or are planning to visit the city make sure to take a look at the Jazz Interlude with concert schedule. In the spectacular Koko Jazz Club, located in the heart of the city, we will make you experience jazz in a way you have never experienced before. We’re sure you’ll come back over and over again! And as you know jazz is highly contagious so bring lot’s of friends!

What could possibly be the best way to start Jazz Interlude? After months of planning, phone calls and sleepless nights we did it. Are you ready?

On the last weekend of January, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th, Jazz Interlude will present the Dave O’Higgins Weekend. London-born, world renowned, saxophone’s ace O’Higgins,  alongside with some of the Sibelius Academy finest musicians – Jukkis Uotila on piano, Jussi Lehtonen on drums, Timo Hirvonen on bass and vibraphonist Severi Pyysalo (on Sunday)- he will perform at the Helsinki’s Koko Jazz Club on Saturday starting from 9pm. On Sunday, from 12, it will be time for an exclusive classic English brunch, a unique chance to listen to some great live music, while enjoying some of the chef’s best delights.

An entire weekend of jazz, one of the best saxophonists around, an electrifying Saturday night performance and a fancy  and delicious jazz brunch (accompanied by more jazz)…Do we have to add anything more?
